Cindy Berry, age 50, of Portsmouth, Ohio, formerly of Jackson, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023, at Riverside Methodist Hospital due to complications of a brain hemorrhage. She was born July 8th, 1972, in West Union, Ohio to the late Randy Leo and Kay Berry.

Cindy was a 1991 graduate of Valley High School. She had a passion for nursing and worked as a nurse’s aide until she got her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Rio Grande in 2008. Cindy worked as an assistant nurse manager at Southern Ohio Medical Center for 13 years. She also served as a clinical instructor at Rio Grande for 5 years. Cindy graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing in 2018 from Maryville University and worked briefly as a Nurse Practitioner in mental healthcare before venturing into addiction medicine. Cindy loved the profession of nursing and was the most dedicated, compassionate, hard-working nurse. Cindy’s compassion for others will live on as she was a registered organ donor and will help save the lives of others.

When she wasn’t working, Cindy enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, going out with her girlfriends, watching football, and going to the casino and concerts. She loved watching her grandsons play sports and proudly cheering them on at every game. She took so much pride in her family and their accomplishments and always put others before herself.

Cindy is survived by her partner, Chris Bishop; daughters, Tiffany (Eric) Wood and Kathlena Broughton; grandsons, Bryson, Mason, and Hudson; step-granddaughters, Trinity and Emmalee; sister, Janice (Richard) Tiller; niece, Heather (Corey) Clark; nephew, Avery (Kammi) Woods; great-nieces, Sophia and Annabella; and great-nephews, Connor and Leo.
