Thomas “Tom” Edward Moore, age 69, of Jackson, Ohio passed away Monday, June 3rd, 2019, surrounded by his loving family at Adena Regional Medical Center of Chillicothe.

He was born August 21st, 1949 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Charles and Virginia (Poe) Moore. Tom was a 1968 graduate of Jackson High School. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, serving as an M60 Gunner in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles) from 1969 to 1970. He was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, and Marksman Badge for M16 before being honorably discharged. He was a lifetime member of the Jackson DAV and VFW.

Tom is survived by his wife, Donna (Houser) Moore, his high school sweetheart of 49 years; daughters: Tammy R. Moore of Centerville, Ohio, Amanda D. Moore (Sam) Adkins of Jackson, Ohio, and Emily A. Moore of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren: Serena N. Cartwright (Chris Lyons) of South Vienna, Ohio and Ryan J. (Amber Dyke) Cartwright of Jackson, Ohio; great-grandchildren: Brodey, Aiyana, and Adria Lyons and Roman Cartwright; sister, Beverly (Moore) Sturgill of Oak Hill, Ohio; brother, Charlie Moore of Jackson, Ohio; best friend, Ronald Rouse of Florida; as well as several beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest Moore, Roger Moore, and James Moore.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 7th, 2019 from 4-8PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 8th, 2019 at 11AM at the funeral home with Pastor Todd Barlow officiating.
