Sallie Ann Martin, age 74, of Oak Hill, Ohio and formerly of Nitro, WV passed away Wednesday, September 19th, 2018 at Holzer of Gallipolis. She was born May 15th, 1944 in Cross Lanes, WV to the late Joseph and Ruth Smith.
Sallie spent most of her life as a dedicated homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed picnics, Canasta, and spending time with her family. She was a big Elvis Presley fan. Recently she has spent her leisure time playing Bingo at the Oak Hill Senior Center and at home with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Buster Martin; daughter, Melissa (Chris) Stalnaker; grandsons: Chris, Nicholas, A’Jay, and Steven; granddaughters: Nakita and Nattalie; brothers: Carl, Marvin, and Joe Smith; sisters: Jean Jarrett and Elizabeth Painter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen Martin; and her brother, David Smith.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 from 3-7PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 24th, 2018 at 11AM at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens in Cross Lanes, WV.
