Bentley “Bill” McCarty, age 65, of Decatur, Ohio, formerly of Jackson, passed away Wednesday. May 9, 2018 at his home in Decatur. He was born March 27, 1953 in Gallipolis to the late Jaroy and Betsy Frances (Wheeler) McCarty.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Bradford Huertas, Chastity Karshner, Bentley McCarty and Thaddius McCarty; former wife Teresa Vaughn; great grandchildren, Haven and Trystyn Huertas and Alecia Jade and Trevor Michael Karshner. He is also survived by his brothers, Willis E. and James McCarty and sister-in-law, Jane Ann McCarty along with several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Bentley “Billy” McCarty, daughter, Tiffany Jo McCarty, infant son, Bradford David McCarty and a sister, Rosetta Jean “Jeannie” Floyd

He was a loving grandfather and a wonderful husband and father. He loved fishing and hunting. He will continue to be loved and missed by everyone who knew him.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Pastor Stan Howard officiating.
