Gary Keith Strickland, age 58 of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on May 27th, 2025, at Holzer Medical Center of Jackson. He was born September 5th, 1966, in Gallipolis, Ohio to Jean (Snyder) Strickland and the late Foster Strickland.

Gary began working in the timber industry as a child and became a specialized timber cutter for L&L Logging. He loved fishing, especially with his significant other, Sherry. Gary was known for his excellent work ethic. He had a strong love for his family. You always knew where you stood with him, and he was not afraid to tell you how much he loved you.

He is survived by his mother, Jean Strickland; his children, Kristin (Chris) Strickland, Jeremy Keith Strickland, Carson Strickland, and Lea “Willie” (Devin) Cole; grandchildren, Kyland Brooke Strickland, Bristol Kate Strickland, Brantlee Strickland, Kyndall Beth Strickland, Savannah Joann, Finley Jo Strickland, Grey Barrett Cole, Scarlett Maeve Cole, Landon Carter, and Madlyn Canter; his significant other, Sherry Williams; siblings, Becky (Ed) Coleman, Rita Adkins, Tim (Tara) Strickland, Karen (Jim) Rife, and Todd Strickland; and his dog Smoky; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, Foster Strickland and nephew, Michael Saylor.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday May 31st, from 4PM-6PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be Sunday June 1st, at 2PM with Rev. Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Horeb Cemetery. Online condolences can be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
