Gregory Jasper Hughes, age 57, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at his home to be with the Lord.

Greg was born March 11th, 1962 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Jasper and Shirley Hughes. He was a member of Gallia Baptist Church.

Greg was always filled with happiness and light. He enjoyed early morning coffee on the porch and watching the sunrise. Watching classic, western movies, listening to Elvis, and reading the Bible were how he passed his time.

Greg is survived by his parents, Jasper and Shirley (Angel) Hughes; his brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Amanda Hughes; his four nephews: Kole, Kyle, and Brant Hughes and Dylan Blevins; his great-niece, Claya Hughes; and great-niece on the way, Gwyn Blevins.

Greg was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Hughes Blevins; maternal grandparents, Mary Louise (Peters) Angel and Roy Angel; paternal grandparents, Grace (Rawlins) Hughes and James Hughes.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 14th, 2019 from 4-8PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15th, 2019 at 1PM with Pastor Cline Rawlins and Pastor Randy Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Centenary Cemetery in Gallia County.
