BoDine R. (Smith) Rader, age 84, of Jackson, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, February 19, 2022. She was born September 27, 1937 in Jackson. She was the oldest of nine siblings and the daughter of the late Russell “Dick” and Zona (Burtenshaw) Smith. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1955.
BoDine was the loving wife of 64 years to Gary R. Rader, who survives; and the loving mother of Mark (Cheryl) Rader, Craig (Elaine Walker) Rader, Kevin (Hazel) Rader, Rhonda (Kenny) Esposita and Michele (Kenny) Moon. She was the loving and caring grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. BoDine is also survived by three brothers, Rodney Smith, Sidney (Linda) Smith and Rick (Jan) Smith; four sisters, Berneta “Minnie” Fout, Joyce (Fred) Richards, Bernadine (Larry) Conkle and Beverly Griffiths; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Zona Smith; one brother, Richard Smith; brothers-in-law, Raymond Fout and Danny Griffiths; sister-in-law, Pamela Smith and daughter-in-law, Miriam Rader.
She retired from Jackson Plastics in 1995.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 21, 2022, from 12-2 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 with Elder Caleb Orton officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
