Mary Jo Dodson, age 73, Rio Grande, Ohio passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born in Marion, Ohio, daughter to the late Bill and Imogene Harris. Mary Jo attended Simpson Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a very active member. She retired from the family business, Dodson & Company in 2014. She spent her retirement years playing cards with her card clubs and spoiling her grandkids.
She is survived by her children, Lori Dodson-Taylor, Rio Grande, Ohio and Chris (Bridgette) Dodson, Bidwell, Ohio; grandchildren: Ilo, Emma, and Bailey Dodson and Morgan Taylor; sister Judy (John) Knutson, Flower Mound, Texas; brother, Randy Harris, Bixby, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Fondalene Alfrey, Ironton, Ohio; as well as several nieces and nephews, and her doggie, Roxy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Dodson; sister-in-law, Connie Harris; sister-in-law, LaVoda Thompson; and brother-in-law, John Alfrey.
The funeral service for Mary Jo will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill, Ohio. Burial will follow in Tyn Rhos Cemetery, Thurman, Ohio. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the funeral home.
