Louise Caroline Mauch, age 73, of Jackson County, Ohio passed away April 22nd, 2025, at Jenkins Care Facility. Louise was born June 27th, 1951, in Coshocton, Ohio to the late William Andrew and Hope LaVerne (Johns) Mauch.
Louise was a graduate of Marshall University where she earned her bachelor’s degree and attended grad school studying Biology. She worked as a teacher and worked for many years as a Health Care Facility Surveyor with the Ohio Department of Health. She became the first female sanitarian with the Jackson County Health Department, Marietta City Health Department, and Logan, Ohio. She was also the first female Health Department Director in Southeast Ohio.
Louise loved her farm and animals, especially her horse.
She is survived by her sister, Laura (Richard) Bowen; brother, Sam (Jamie) Mauch, and brother, Steve (Stacy) Mauch; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lillian Mauch and Linda Hanmer.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 24th, 2025, from 2-3PM at the Faith Lutheran Church, 245 E Huron Street, Jackson, OH 45640. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3PM with Rev.
