Winifred Ann (Lewis) Ghearing, age 88, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2023, at Holzer Assisted Living in Jackson. She was born November 20, 1934, in Thurman, Ohio to the late Edward and Zelma Lewis.
She is survived by husband, Larry W. Ghearing of Jackson, Ohio; her son, Larry Lee (Kim) Ghearing of Quitman, Texas; step-granddaughter, Kristine (Mikie) Samples of Alba, Texas; and step-great-grandsons, Tucker and Easton whom she enjoyed so very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Irene Lloyd, Sarah Lane, Jennie Myers, and Mary Thornton; brother, Edward Lewis; an infant brother, and two infant children.
Winnie graduated from Centerville High School in Thurman, Ohio as valedictorian. Upon graduation, she worked for General Telephone Company where she met her beloved Larry. They shared a special 66 years of committed marriage. She enjoyed baking delicious treats for her family and many friends. She was most happy taking care of her beautiful flower beds and keeping an immaculate home. Winnie was a member of Community United Methodist Church of Circleville.
Visitation will be held at the Lewis and Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson on Wednesday, March 29th, 2023, from 6-8PM. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 30th, 2023, at 11AM at Hill Cemetery in Thurman with Pastor Janie Karl officiating. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
