William R.T. Hubbard Sr., age 68, loving husband, and father of seven, passed away peacefully Friday, March 26, 2021 at his home with his wife, Brenda and sister-in-law, Tammy and a hospice nurse by his side. He was born October 31, 1952 in Oak Hill to the late Archie and Louise (McGlone) Hubbard.
He married Brenda (Kent) Hubbard on March 9, 1983 and together they raised seven children, three sons, John (Angela) Hubbard, William Jr. (Maria) Hubbard, Thomas (Tina) Kent; four daughters, Tammy (Eddie) Lawhorn, Kimberly (Eddie) Richards, Tina (Steve) Thacker, Viola (Mark) Krouch; sixteen grandchildren; and ten great great grandchildren; sister, Laurie (late Gene) Boggs; brother, Archie Jr. (Willene) Hubbard; sister-in-law, Tammy Hubbard; brother-in-law, Robert Drees and a very large extended family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Mallory “Rick” Hubbard; sister, Kathrine Drees; one great granddaughter, Maggie Kent; one brother-in-law, Gene Boggs.
Bill was a retired truck driver. He and his best friend, Steve Wilson loved to travel and visit different places. He will be dearly missed.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 11-1 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 with Ray Perry officiating. Burial will be in Moriah Cemetery in Oak Hill. Per CDC guidelines and governor recommendations every is required to wear a mask and practice proper social distancing.
