Vickie Fitzwater, age 65, of Vinton Ohio, passed away September 2, 2023, at 9:30AM at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, with her daughters singing “I’ll Fly Away”. She was born February 9th,1958, in Fort Knox, Kentucky to the late Betty (Tinnes) Fitzwater and Gilbert Fitzwater Sr.
She was a dedicated mother and loved spending time with family & friends. She loved cooking for family gatherings, and she loved being a cake decorator for many years.
She is survived by her brother, Gilbert Lee Fitzwater Jr, of Gallipolis Ohio; her six children: Jeffrey L. Fitzwater, of Vinton, Ohio, Christal (James) Fitzwater, of Lancaster, Ohio, Erica (Mike) Price, of Otway, Ohio, and Kelly Spaulding Jr, Jeremiah (Paula) Spaulding, and Michelle Spaulding, all of Vinton, Ohio ; fourteen grandchildren: Hannah (Josh) Grimes, Justin Moore, Jeffrey (Karli) Fitzwater Jr, Alexia Fitzwater, Jordan Fitzwater, James White Jr, Dylan White, Jeremiah Spaulding Jr., Joseph Spaulding, Kelsie Gibson, Jasmine Hall, Adeline Spaulding, Brady (Siera) Price, and Michael (Marisa) Price Jr.; four great–grandchildren, Jayston Bair, Joseph Price, Dallas Price, and Ezra Price; her niece, Becky Peck; and nephews, Thomas Muncy, and Scott Peck; best friend, Cathy Ashburn and children, and numerous cousins.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Allen Fitzwater; her granddaughter, Miranda Harper; her sister for life, Dorthy M. Peck, her Angel baby, and aunts, uncles, niece, nephew, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 11-1PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home, 28 Harding Ave., Jackson, Ohio 45640. Funeral services will immediately follow at the funeral home at 1PM. Interment will follow in the Vinton Memorial Cemetery, 16696 OH-160, Vinton Ohio.
