Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. Her children arise up and call her blessed.

 

Rosalyn “Rosie” Hope McCoy, age 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Palm Sunday, March 24th, 2024, and was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by her husband of 33 years, Carl McCoy. She was born May 24th, 1943, in Jackson, Ohio to the late William Eugene and Mary Johanna (Bierhup) Erwin.

 

Rosie is survived by her children: Bobby (Connie) McCoy, Rose (Doug) Mullett, Brenda (Mark) Howell, and Mary (Tim) McDaniel; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Phyllis Erwin; and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and her husband, Rosie was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Erwin, William Eugene Erwin II, and John “Jack” Henry Erwin; sister, Mary Joann McCoy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law.

 

Rosie was a 1962 graduate of Jackson High School in which she was involved in numerous extra-curricular activities such as band, choir, FHA, Glee Club, and Tri-Hi-Y. She was very involved in the 4-H program, even serving as queen.

 

Rosie was a faithful servant and loved helping people and taking care of them from babies to the elderly. She had a way of making everyone feel like they were someone special. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and being outdoors.

 

She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother to her large family and they will miss her dearly.

 

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024, from 4:30-7:30PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A church service will follow from 7:30-8:30PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 27th, 2024, at 11AM at the funeral home with Pastor Chester Keathley and her grandson, Matthew Howell officiating. Burial will follow at C.M.
