Roger Dean Boggs, age 72, of Oak Hill, passed away early Sunday, February 14, 2021. He was born November 22, 1948 in Jackson to the late John H. and Mary Irene (McFann) Boggs.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandy (Pelfrey) Boggs, of Oak Hill; children, Timothy (Crystal) Harrison, Cassandra Harrison, Samantha (Randy) (Boggs) Rainer, Roger Hayden (Danielle) Boggs, Dhana Boggs Brown and Jana (Freddy) Boggs Graessle; grandchildren, Roger Houston, Anthony, Brice, Evan, Gage, Colt, Aaron, Blazden, Brianna and Scotty. Brothers, Johnny Boggs, Ricky (Jody) Boggs and Jeff Boggs; and sister, Vicky Jenkins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death death by his grandson, Chase Boggs; sisters, Joanne Tilley, Judy Exline and Sherri Pitts; brother, Ronnie Boggs.
First and foremost, Roger was a father, grandfather and a husband. He was very proud to be a Marine, serving in Vietnam. He loved to fish, he loved the ocean, auctions, flea markets and he especially loved to annoy his wife.
Friends may call Wednesday, February, 17, 2021 from 2-4 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Military services will follow at 4:00 provided by the Disabled American Veterans Post 45 of Jackson and the United States Marine Corps. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date. Per CDC guidelines and Governor recommendations, everyone is required to wear a mask and practice proper social distancing procedures.
