Rick was a 1987 graduate of Oak Hill High School, where he was a proud member of the football team.  Rick also graduated from Rio Grande college in 1992.

Richard gave back to his community throughout his life as a member of the Oak Hill volunteer fire department, along with Madison-Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department for over 22 years.  He was a paramedic with SEOMS for over 20 years.  He was a first responder, a juvenile probation officer, worked in the social work field and worked with the Jackson County court system.  In his spare time, Rick loved to ride his Harley until his sight failed him and he no longer could.  He enjoyed camping in Pigeon Forge, visiting Civil War battlefields, spending time with his grandchildren, and family, watching “the” Ohio State Buckeyes Football and watching Jeopardy.  He was taken too soon but the memories of him will last a lifetime.
