Ray Wayne Hoover, age 56, of Jackson passed away after a battle with lung cancer on Friday, December 30, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. He was born August 11, 1966, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to Roger Hoover and the late Linda (Landrum) Hoover.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mètisse (Stover) Hoover, of Jackson; daughter, Brittany (Tim) Walters, of Chillicothe, Ohio; son, Tyler Hoover, of Jackson; grandchildren, Braxton and Brennan Walters, of Chillicothe; sister, Lou Ann Hoover, of Jackson; brother, Harold (Robin) Hoover, of Jackson; mother-in-law, Carolyn Stover; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Marion Hoover and Harry and Jessie Landrum.
Ray graduated from Jackson High School in 1985. He was a very hard worker, loved to farm and enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 4-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the funeral home with Donnie Brown officiating. Burial will follow in German Salem Cemetery.
