Paul Warner Hilderbrant, age 82 passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born August 14, 1938 in Pickaway County to the late Oliver and Dorthy (Allen) Hilderbrant.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (Dickens); children, Melissa McCleese, Warner “Bub” (Lori) Hilderbrant and Anthony “Andy” (Laci) Hilderbrant; grandchildren, Mikayla McCleese, Cole and Kelsey Hilderbrant, Brooklyn Carpenter and Aaron Canter. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Abby and Stella; and two brothers, Lester and Henry.
Warner was a kid at heart. He never talked down to anyone and was a gentle fun-loving soul. He was the hardest worker you would ever meet, he retired at the age of 65 but continued working until the age of 76. He loved the outdoors and didn’t like being inside. He owned his own sawmill and logging company, Hilderbrant logging.
Friends may call Tuesday, October 27, 2020 from 4-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 1:00 PM Hill with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Furnace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014 or your favorite charity.
