Opal Lee Lahrmer (Coburn) of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away peacefully early Friday, June 24, 2022, at 4:30 AM after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
She was born on September 29, 1939, in Greenup County Kentucky to the late Chester and Oma (Green) Coburn. Opal was known for her hard work painting and wallpapering homes, and later retired from such work.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Estel Lahrmer; siblings, Kenneth (Maureen) Coburn, Irene (Dave) Edwards, Gene Coburn, Janet (Harlan) Snyder, Roger (Carol) Coburn, and Ron (Carol) Coburn.
Opal is survived by her sister, Brenda (Ralph) Young, of Gallipolis; children, Tammy (Perry) Cardwell, of Gallipolis, Melvin Lahrmer, of Oak Hill, and Brian (Shannon) Lahrmer, of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Jeremy (Tara) Lahrmer, Lisa (Tyler) Brown, Shara (Drew) Cannon, and Candice (J.J.) Milliken; great grandchildren, Morgan, Hunter, Bailee, and Trenton Lahrmer, Braydon, Addy, and Colt Brown, and Harper, Henley, Haelyn, and Hayzel Cannon, of Oak Hill, Katelyn, Emma, Allison, and Kristin Cardwell, Elizabeth Watson, Olivia Mae Steele, Tristin Gillman, Brady Price, and Liam and Oliver Milliken.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 27, 2022, from 4-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 11:00 at the funeral home with Rev Fred Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery.
