Nicole Dee Ann Graves, age 40, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 27th, 2023, at her home she shared with her father in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born July 30th, 1982, in Gallipolis, Ohio.
Nicole attended Chillicothe High School. She obtained a bachelor’s in Social Work from Ohio University of Chillicothe and was currently working towards her master’s degree. She was employed by Safe Haven Darts, LLC as a chemical dependency counselor. Nicole’s compassion and caring nature were evident in both her career and other causes she supported like working with the homeless in her community. She will forever be remembered as a shining light by all those who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Whitney Caplinger; son, Wesley Caplinger; two grandchildren, Azariah Detty and Princetyn Caplinger; her soul-mate, Kenny McCallister; mother, Annette (Carl) Nelson; father, Ronald Graves; brothers, Roland Graves and Jimmy Russell; sister, Brittany Thompson; father of her children, David Caplinger; grandparents, Wendell Sr. and Diane Barker; father-in-law, Gene Caplinger; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Nicole was preceded in death by her sister, Ponzell Booth; nephew, Cody Booth; maternal grandmother, Ponzell Barker; paternal grandmother, Rosalie Ramsey; and mother-in-law, Tammy Gillette.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 2nd, 2023, from 12-2PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2PM with burial after at Pattonsville Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
