Mary E. (Simpson) McFann, age 82, of Thurman and Oak Hill, passed away at her residence on Friday, December 2, 2022. She was born October 21, 1940, in Blackfork, Ohio to the late Woodrow and Estalene (Woolum) Simpson.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert John McFann and her two children, Brian Keith and Kimberly Ann McFann and two brothers-in-law, Rick Hubbard and Keith Potts and her lifelong partner, Leon “Butch” Danflous. She is also preceded by her in laws, Harley, Belva, Franklin, Ruth, and Ruby McFann and also, Liz and Jr. Hall.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Barry) Sexton, of Franklin Furnace; son, Chris (Amanda) McFann, of Oak Hill; and her brothers, Charlie Simpson, Robert Simpson and Delbert Simpson, all of Oak Hill; two sisters, Dianna Potts, of Oak Hill and Tammy Hubbard, of Oak Hill; and seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, all of Oak Hill.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 5, 2022, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill from 11-1. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 with Pastors Tim Simpson and Alan Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Horeb Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
