Marcus Alexander Putman, age 31, passed away on Friday, September 17th, 2021. He was born August 2nd, 1990, in Athens, Ohio to Kelly Welsh and the late, Burl L. Putman Jr.
Marc Alex was an intelligent and loving man. He loved to read, play video games, and spend time with his daughter and wife daydreaming about the life they were building together. He loved going for ice cream, blue goo to be specific, and taking drives with his family.
He had began attending church at Calvary Christian Center in 2019 where he gave his life to the Lord.
Marcus served six years in the United States Army where he was stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
In addition to his mother, Kelly Welsh he is survived by his wife, Rebekah Putman; daughter, Tallulah Putman; five step-children: Lili McBride, Boston McBride, Olive McBride, Tinsel McBride, and Finis McBride; brother, paternal grandmother, Bonnie Putman; maternal grandfather, Dinnis Welsh and Phyllis Welsh (Grey); maternal grandmother, Shirley Osborne; sister, Kyle and Elizabeth Bryant (Putman) and their children: Bailey, Eli, and Addy Bryant; brother, Eric Putman (Ashleigh) and their son, Wesley Putman; father-in-law, Terry and Danielle Hale (Evans); brother-in-law, Andrew and Ashley Hale (Russell); niece and nephew, Rowan and Wyatt Hale; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that loved him dearly.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Burl L. Putman Sr. and uncle, Michael Osborne.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 20th, 2021, from 4-8PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 21st, 2021, at 1PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home. Graveside services with military honors will follow at C.M. Cemetery.
