Lawrence Dean Roof, age 66, of Oak Hill, passed away at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth on Friday, September 23, 2022. He was born June 4, 1956, in Oak Hill to the late Elmer and Virginia (Saunders) Roof.
He is survived by his son, Joshua Roof, of Oak Hill; daughter, Lacie (Adam) Smith, of Oak Hill; brother, Jimmy (Anita) Roof; grandchildren, Chase and Riley Smith, of Oak Hill. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Brittany Mumaw, Tara Roof, R.P. Roof, Andy Roof; and significant other, Cheryl Leach.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Roof.
At his request, his body will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill.
