John D. Wood, age 70, of Jackson, Ohio passed away peacefully on May 7th, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 27, 1950 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Wilbur (Bus) and Ruth (Grow) Wood. He retired from A.P. Green Refractories after 42 years of service. He was very dedicated to his job. He enjoyed his little dog, Chichi and his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his early years.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pamela (Keairns) Wood; son, Tony Wood; sister, Deanna S. Peters (Tom); grandchildren, Christa Ewing (Jericho), Cheylin Burd (Moses Jr.), Hailey Wood, Natasha Wood (Cory), and Chase Wood. Also surviving is special nephew, Jonathan Peters (Kristen) and two great grandchildren, Ethan and Eli Johnson, and numerous other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Donna Wood.
Friends may call Monday, May 10, 2021 from 11-1 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow the service. Per CDC guidelines and governor recommendations, everyone is to wear a mask while indoors and practice proper social distancing.
