On February 12th, 2024, at 8:40PM, Joanne Maynard, age 53, in the company of her family made the transition to her final resting place in Heaven. In her last moments she was surrounded with love, laughter, and beautiful memories by her children and her fiancé, David Strickland.
Joanne leaves behind her sister, Charlene Maynard; four children: Jessica Maynard (Robert Cruz), Carrie (Kelsey) Clyburn, her only son, Cory Maynard, and her youngest daughter, Ronnilynn Hackney; as well as 15 grandchildren who were all blessed to have a loving and caring grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Lowe; her mother, Ruby Maynard; her sister, Pamela Maynard; and her grandson, Gabriel Todd.
Joanne lived most of her life in Lorain, Ohio. She attended college in Youngstown, Ohio where she made the dean's list and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Horticulture. She had many passions, but the one she loved the most was gardening. She also loved going all out for the holidays and having her family together.
Joanne is finally at peace with family and friends who have gone on before her. She will forever be loved and always missed.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, from 3PM-7PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024, at 10AM with Pastor Cline Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow at Gallia Baptist Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to
