Joann (Sharp) McGhee left her earthly home and joined her heavenly family on May 19th, 2021. She was surrounded by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who have been by her side . She was born February 18th, 1951 to the late John “Jack” Sharp and Gertrude Sharp.

She graduated from Oak Hill High School and in 1970 married Charles “Chuck)” McGhee with whom she celebrated their 50th anniversary last summer. Together they had three children: Lisa (JB) Bevins, Stephanie (Kevin) Dulaney, Charles (Heidi) McGhee; grandchildren: Nicole (Hunter) Havens, Harley (Cullier Robinson), Wyatt McGhee, Samantha Dulaney, and Aiden and Ansen Thorne; two precious great-granddaughters, Ivy Havens and Scarlet Robinson; siblings: John (Susan) Sharp, Sharon (Eddie) McGhee, and Pam (Jeff) White; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her own children, she was “Mama Jo” to countless young people whom she either babysat or mentored, and was known as the neighborhood Mama. Everyone knew if you needed a hug, or a meal Jo was always there. She also fed all the deer hunters (some never hunted just came for the bountiful food supply!). When she was healthier, she spent her summers gardening and canning. Her pantry was always stocked, and she was ready to share with anyone who needed it. She also loved playing games on her computer, looking at family photos on Facebook, and going gambling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother and father-in- law, Charles “Bus” and Daisy McGhee; as well as sister-in-law, Diana Martin; and brother-in-law, Roger McGhee.
