Helen Ruth Jones, age 78, of Blackfork, Ohio went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 24th, 2024. Helen was born May 26th, 1945, in Decatur, Ohio to the late Robert and Ruth (Russell) Lawson.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Lawonha (Will) Baisden; her sons, Meredith “Perky” Jones, Darin (Lisa) Jones, the apple of her eye, Charles “Corkey” Crabtree, and Kaleb Fithen; her grandchildren: Dusty, Derek, and Corey Jones; great-grandchildren: Devin, Elizabeth, Dakota, Raylynn, and Hank Maverick Jones; her sister, Sylvia Stroth; brother, Bobby Lawson; her special prayer warrior niece, Rita “Speedy” Evans.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Lawson and Henry Lawson; and two sisters, Betty Kelley and Kay Gallagher.
Helen was a hard worker and when she loved you, she loved you immensely. For her children she was a grizzly mother, you didn’t hurt her cubs. Helen loved mushroom hunting, fishing, flower gardening, and being outdoors. When she retired from Rockwell in Gallipolis, Ohio she took up a passion for painting and to her surprise she was quite good at it.
Helen will be deeply missed by her children, friends, and loved ones on this earth. But holdfast knowing that with believing and walking in our Lord Jesus Christ we will see her again.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, February 27th, 2024, from 4:30PM-8:30PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, at 1PM with Rev. Priscilla Davis officiating at the funeral home. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill, Ohio.
