Goldie D. Carter, age 89, of Oak Hill passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Buckeye Forest in Jackson. She was born on September 11, 1934, in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Alvin Coleman and Octavia (Maynard) Blackburn.
She is survived by her son, Terry Carter, of Jackson; grandchildren, Michael (Angie) Roach, Chris (Stephanie) Carter, Ronelle (Shane) Jenkins, Tara (Doug) Martin, Dava (Scott) Smith, Devon (Josh) Chavez; daughter-in-law, Michelle Carter, son-in-law, Dale Markham; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Carter; daughter, Karen Markham; son, Steve Carter.
Goldie was a homemaker and housewife. She loved playing Bingo, cooking and gardening.
Visitation will be Friday, December 29, 2023, from 1-3 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill. Funeral services will follow at 3:00. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
