Glenna Mae (Smith) Boston, age 90, of Jackson, Ohio, reached the tender hands of her high school sweetheart, Garland, at the gates of God's glory on Friday, March 8, 2024.

Glenna was born August 3, 1933, to Violet and Aubra Smith in Gallipolis, Ohio. She joined her siblings, Bessie, Ruth, and Carl and would later become a big sister herself to Shirley, Keith, Lynda, and Carol.

Glenna attended and graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1951. It was there that she would fall in love with her high school sweetheart, Garland Boston. Glenna and Garland were joined as husband and wife in the presence of loved ones on September 1, 1951, at Simpson Chapel Methodist Church in Rio Grande.

Glenna and Garland moved to Arlington Virginia for Garland's service in the United States Air Force. It was during that time that Glenna began working as a civilian employee at the United States Pentagon. Glenna and Garland moved to Jackson around 1955 and she worked various jobs including many years at Buckeye Mart.

Glenna would proudly earn the title of mother on February 25, 1955, when she and Garland welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Jeanee. They then expanded their family further when they welcomed a spirited baby boy, Garland Lee Boston on December 3, 1959. Glenna later began her next joyful journey in life when she earned the title of Grandma on May 9, 1973, with the birth of Gregory Joe Dalton. On December 10, 1976, she welcomed her other grandson, Christopher Allen Dalton. Grandma Boston lovingly shared many memories and milestones with Greg and Chris.

Glenna and Garland attended Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church and Faith Ministries of Jackson.

Glenna leaves behind her daughter, Jeanee (Merle) Collins of Oak Hill, Ohio and her grandsons, Greg (Shannon) Dalton of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Chris (Mandee) Dalton of Jackson, Ohio. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Brayden, Blayne, Jennifer, Kayla, Christopher, Ryan, Olivia, and Markaela Dalton; as well as many step-great-grandchildren.

She will also be lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings, Shirley Rogers of Georgia, Lynda Smith of Bidwell, Ohio, Carol Belville of Bidwell, Ohio, and Keith (Ernestine) Smith of Bidwell, Ohio, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Glenna joins many loved ones in heaven including her parents, Violet and Aubra as well as siblings Bessie, Carl, and Ruth. Undoubtedly, the greatest reunion will be that of Glenna and Garland, who left to prepare her place on November 24, 2023. Together they are embracing their spirited baby boy "Lee" who passed May 25, 2016.

Glenna's wish was to be home to see her flowers bloom in the Spring and she was excited to see her crocuses and lilies opened as she returned home.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 14th, 2024, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. The family will receive loved ones from 10:30AM until the service time at 12:30PM with Nathan Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
