Gary R. Rader, age 86, of Jackson, Ohio passed away Monday, January 15th, 2024, at his home. He was born October 21st, 1937, in Beaver, Ohio, the middle son to the late Herman E. and Goldie (Bostic) Rader.

 

Gary was a 1956 graduate of Beaver High School. He retired in 1995 from Campbell’s Soup Company where he worked as a Maintenance Supervisor. He also worked for AJ Stockmeister when the mushroom plant was built in 1974 and then transitioned to maintenance mechanic at that plant until his retirement from Campbell’s.

 

He was a member of the Buckeye Sheriff’s Association, the Jackson Jaycee’s, and Masonic Lodge #132.

 

Gary is survived by his children: Mark (Cheryl) Rader, Kevin (Hazel) Rader, Rhonda (Kenny) Esposita, and Michele (Kenny) Moon; his grandchildren whom he was lovingly known as  grandpa and pappy to: Dustin (Summer) Rader, Darin Rader, Cody (Josie) Rader, Caylee Rader, Nick (Tina) Rader, Julia “Beth”(Kyle) Klontz, Morgan (Wittney) Rader, Megan (Adam) Davis, Katie (Will) Scott, and Chelsea Moon (fiancé, Cody Conners); great grandfather to: Anderson, August, Aurelia, Owen Tyler, Reileigh, Luke, Max, Bristol, Ellie, Riggs, Cambrie, Henry, Ellis, and Mary Kate; his brother, Kenneth (Barbara) Rader; and his beloved fur baby, Zoey or “Joey” as he called her.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years and love of his life, BoDine R. (Smith) Rader; son, Craig D. Rader; daughter-in-law, Miriam D. Rader.

 

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 19th, 2024, from 12-2PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Masonic honors provided by Trowel Lodge #132 F&AM. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2PM with Pastor Wayne Searls officiating. Burial to follow after at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
