Emogene (Greer) White, age 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Buckeye Forest Healthcare of Jackson, Ohio. She was born on May 16, 1930, in Floyd County Kentucky, to the late Joseph N. and Myra (Crisp) Greer.
Emogene is survived by her two stepdaughters, Sharon (Chris) Ondera of Jackson, Ohio and Colleen (Randy) Ridge of North Carolina; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by sisters, Bertha Lyons of Jackson, Ohio, Margaret Caulley of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and Myrtle Hall of California; brothers, Joe Jr., John D., and Jack all of Jackson County, Ohio, Charles of Rio Grande, Ohio, Walter of Loveland, Ohio, and David of California.
Jean lived and worked in Oak Hill, Ohio. She retired from Oak Hill hospital and Dr. Ball's family practice.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday June 14th, 2025, at 10:00am at Beaver Union Cemetery with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis and Gillum funeral home of Jackson. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
My sincere condolences to all of the family. I had the honor of working with Jean at the Oak Hill Hospital in the early 80"s, she was the manager over the receptionists at that time. She was not just our manager but became good friends with most of us girls that worked there, we girls (and Jean) would get together at my house on several occasions, I am Blessed to have those memories. Thank you Jean White for the laughs and leadership.
