On Sunday, September 24th, 2023, our mother, Delores Mae Snyder, closed her eyes and opened them in Heaven where Jesus said come in my faithful child. She was met at the gates of Heaven by her husband, Ben Snyder and her daughter, Christina Lewis, as well as several of her siblings.
Delores was born January 29th, 1932, in Russell Creek, West Virginia to the late Lawrence Osborn and Laura (Miller) Christian. She was a member of several churches in the Jackson area over the years. She was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and laid her hope of eternal life in him and encouraged those around her to do the same. She loved her family dearly and they will miss her greatly.
She is survived by her children: Rodney (Bobbie Ann) Stiffler, Dale (Pat) Stiffler, Diane (Rick) Pewitt, Bobby (Ginny) Stiffler, Ray Lewis, Teresa Noval, Kim (Dwayne) Richmond, and Denise (Matt) Elliott; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Melvin Christian, Vonda Snyder, and Gail Wylie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 28th, 2023, from 1-2PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. A funeral service will follow at 2PM with Matthew Elliott and Jeremy Kerns officiating. Burial will follow at Horeb Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
