David R. “Randy” Farrar, age 67, of Jackson, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023, at home after several years of failing health. He was born February 7th, 1956, in Chillicothe, Ohio to Wanda Nelson Farrar Smith, who survives and the late David W. Farrar.
He was a 1974 graduate of Jackson High School and was an all SEOAL offensive lineman for the Jackson Ironmen. Randy owned and operated Farrar Farms with his father and his sons and was also a former USPS rural mail carrier.
Randy was a member and Elder of the Antioch Christian Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing with his family at the family pond. He also really enjoyed teaching his boys and grandchildren to play monopoly while also bankrupting anyone who played him. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed teaching his grandson, Gage, to reload shells.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Stephanie (Davis) Farrar; his children, Greg (Richele) Farrar and Justin (Brooke) Farrar; grandchildren: Gage, Mady, Reagan, Alli, and Jackson; siblings, Lori (Carter) Michael and Sallie (Steve) Robinson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, at 1PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Larry Boggs officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
