Catherine (Cathy) Harley, 75 of Jackson passed away on December 28, 2023 after an extended illness at Riverside Hospital Columbus. She was born December 20, 1947 in Chelyan West Virginia to the late Duard D and Margaret Kemper.
Cathy is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 56 years Charles; their children, Charles Jeremy (Megan) Harley, Jennifer (Anthony) Cantor, Sarah (Jason) Wallace, and Susanna (Jonathon) Blanton; grandchildren, Nicholas Cantor, Miriam Harley, Evelyn Harley, Nina Blanton, and Vincent Blanton; great granddaughter, Madeline Cantor; nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, John (Donna) Harley.
Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Carol Richards and Judith Butler.
She graduated from Columbiana, Ohio High School in 1966 as one of the top students but chose to enter the workforce to aid her husband’s education and career. Cathy loved serving others. A natural teacher of children, she taught children’s church and Sunday school for 40 years. She volunteered extensively at the local food pantry and clothing bank. She was currently a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. She loved to mow grass, garden, and tend to her chickens.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, and Staffs of the Holzer Hospital System, Holzer Home Health, Holzer Physical Therapy, Ohio Health - Riverside, Fresenius Kidney Care -Jackson, and special nurses Bridgette Chandler and Jessica Morgan.
Please remember Cathy as the Caring, Vibrant, Loving, Creative, and Beautiful soul she was. She will be greatly missed by many.
Arrangements are under the supervision of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio. Cathy was an organ donor, and her final gift may enable someone to see. Per her request there will be no calling hours and interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
