William Wesley “Billy” McManis Jr., age 73, of Jackson, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. Billy was born on April 2, 1953, in Oak Hill, to the late William Wesley McManis Sr., and Lavernia (Clark) McManis.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cindy (Harrison) McManis; daughters, Michelle (Rusty) West, of Jackson, Angell (Terry) Cunningham, of Myrtle Beach, SC., and Wesley (Eric) Aldrich, of The Plains, Ohio; grandchildren, Billy, Tiffani, and Branden West, Nancy (Josh) Peoples, and Emily, Mason, and Jordias Jeffries; great grandchildren, Kadence, Kyler, and Brantlee Peoples, Braxton West, Harleigh Camp, and Jocelyn West; brother, Jamie McManis; sisters, Mabel Denney, Alice Jean Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Hatten, brothers-in-law, Ron Hatten, Phil Denney, and Don Taylor.
Billy graduated from Jackson High School in 1971. After graduation, he went to work at the City of Jackson in 1974, eventually becoming the superintendent of the Electric Department in 1979. He retired after dedicating 30 years to the job. Billy was a lifetime member of the Elks 466, the life of the party, a former member of Franklin Valley Golf Course. The love of his life was music, and his guitars. He was an avid Buckeyes, and Bengals fan. He loved his grandkids most of all.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 3-7 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. An Elks service will follow at 7:00 PM. At his request, his body will be cremated. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
