Wendell Paul Barker Sr.

Wendell Paul Barker Sr., age 84, of Thurman, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, at his home. He was born May 20th, 1941, in Yellow Springs, Ohio.

Wendell owned and operated his own tire shop and gas station. He loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar. In his free time, he also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing, flea marketing, and watching westerns. 

Wendell will be remembered for his laughs and his love of his family.

Wendell is survived by his daughters, Annette (Carl) Nelson and Kathy (Ron) Denney; his sons, Rodney Barker and Adam Barker; brother, Dwayne (Eileen) Barker; sister, Darleen Schultz; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his dad, John Barker; his mother, Loni (Oliver) Adkins; wife, Ponzell Barker; brothers, Gene Barker, Rodger Barker, and Jackie Adkins; son, Wendell Paul Barker Jr.; granddaughter, Ponzell Boothe; and great-grandson, Cody Boothe.

Calling hours will be Friday, October 24th, 2025, from 4PM-8PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson.
