Teresa Ann Souders

July 18, 1969 — February 26, 2026

Jackson

Teresa Ann Souders, 56, of Jackson, Ohio, was called home on February 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with ALS. Born on July 18, 1969, in California, Teresa moved to Jackson, Ohio, at a young age, where she built a life centered on family, friendship, and community.

A loving daughter, mother, and friend, Teresa touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering strength. She faced her ALS diagnosis with remarkable courage and determination, fighting bravely until the very end. Teresa was also a proud “Grandma” to her cherished grand-animals — Luna, Bebe, and Willow (Hayley), and Tsuni (Megan) — who brought her endless joy.

Teresa was a proud 1987 graduate of Jackson High School, where she played volleyball and developed her lifelong love of sports. She carried that same determination throughout her life and was known for her strong work ethic, resilience, and dedication in all she did.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures — curling up with a good book, watching scary movies, and especially enjoying SyFy shark movies with her family. Teresa cherished her vacations to the beaches of South Carolina and Virginia, where the sound of the ocean brought her peace, and time with loved ones brought her happiness.

Teresa’s life was deeply intertwined with her family and friends, who meant everything to her. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold “Hub” Snyder; her brother, Rob Edington; her sister, Lisa Asby; and her beloved pet, Zoey.

She leaves behind her loving mother, Oma Snyder; her daughters, Hayley (Mike) Richardson and Megan (Alex) Souders; her beloved companion, Frank Johnson; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

A celebration of Teresa’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Teresa’s name to the ALS Association, 1300 Wilson Blvd. Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22209, to support research, provide assistance to families affected by ALS, and help bring hope for a cure to others facing this devastating disease. Those wishing to make a direct donation to assist the family with Celebration of Life expenses and related costs may do so at any WesBanco location under the Hayley Richardson account ending in 04.

Teresa’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of compassion, strength, and enduring love will continue to live on in the lives she touched.
