Susie Joan "Joanne" Eisnaugle

On July 22, 2026, our beloved matriarch, Susie Joan "Joanne" Eisnaugle, peacefully said goodbye to this world and danced through the gates of Heaven into the loving arms of her Savior. She was born on January 19, 1930, to George and Anna Mae (Broyles) Keller and was the youngest of twelve children. Affectionately known as Joanne, she was adored by her older brothers and sisters, who lovingly doted on their baby sister throughout her life.

Susie married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Bob Eisnaugle Sr., in 1947, shortly after they graduated high school. Together they built a life centered on faith, love, and family, raising four children and creating a legacy that continues today through nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren. Nothing brought her greater joy than having her family gathered around her, including in her final days with us. Holidays at Grandma Susie's house meant a home filled with laughter, stories, delicious food, and generations of loved ones creating memories together.

Faith was the cornerstone of Susie's life. Her unwavering love for the Lord Jesus Christ guided every decision she made and shaped the way she loved and raised her family. She faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Jackson for many years, where she joyfully served in countless ways. Whether directing Christmas programs, teaching Sunday School, leading children's music, or quietly encouraging others behind the scenes, she helped nurture the faith of an entire generation of children. Her favorite Bible passage, Psalm 91, reflected the peace, trust, and confidence she placed in God's protection throughout her life.

To the people of Jackson, she wasn't simply Susie or Mrs. Eisnaugle—she was Grandma Susie. Her kindness, generosity, and genuine interest in others made everyone feel like family. She was always the first to send a handwritten card, make a phone call, or offer a heartfelt prayer when someone was hurting. Birthdays weren't complete without one of Grandma Susie's cards, often tucked inside with a crisp one-dollar bill—a simple tradition that became a treasured memory for every member of the family.

Susie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved sitting on her back porch swing listening to the birds while visiting with family and friends. She started each day with a good cup of coffee, enjoyed Alan Jackson gospel music playing in the background, and never turned down a Dairy Queen Dilly Bar or Wendy’s Vanilla Frosty. Her beloved cat, Fluffy, found her and quickly became a cherished companion, reminding us all that the best friendships often choose us.

Her grandchildren were among the greatest blessings of her life. She never missed a Grandparents Day celebration at school for any of her nine grandchildren, always showing up with pride, encouragement, and unconditional love. She delighted in passing along family traditions, including her treasured Bluebird of Happiness, a symbol of hope and joy that became a meaningful keepsake for every member of the family. She also shared a uniquely special bond with her beloved nephew, Admiral Stanley Arthur, who was more of a brother to her.

More than anything, Susie's greatest legacy is the faith she instilled, the love she generously gave, and the example she set. She taught us that serving others, praying faithfully, loving deeply, and trusting God completely were life's greatest callings. Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in knowing that she has heard the words she longed for all her life: "Well done, good and faithful servant." Her love, prayers, and unwavering faith will continue to guide our family for generations to come.

Susie is survived by her four loving children: Pat (Cathy) Eisnaugle, Penny (Dennis) Crabtree, Bonnie (Mike) Dameron, and Bob (Sara) Eisnaugle; her nine cherished grandchildren: Tina (Julian), Tonia (Roy), Jennifer (Kent), Tommy (Jessica), Dennis (Erin), Kim, Chad, Stephanie (John), and Kari (Josh); twenty great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren, along with countless extended family members and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 25th at the First Baptist Church in Jackson, Ohio. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by the service. Afterwards, there will be a private family graveside burial.
