Shirley Anne Strother Hall, 73, of Jackson, Ohio, formerly of Vickery, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025.

Born on December 11, 1951, Shirley devoted her life to caring for others both personally and professionally. She was a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse who served at Providence Hospital, Firelands Regional Medical Center, and Holzer Hospital during her long and meaningful career. Her calm strength and commitment to her patients touched countless lives and reflected her lifelong desire to help others.

Shirley shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Roger Hall, to whom she was married for 57 years and 3 days. Together, they built a loving family and a home filled with laughter, faith, and enduring love.

She is survived by her four children: Shannon (Brad) Gleason of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Scott Hall of Jackson, Ohio; Angela (Jason) Caponi of Castalia, Ohio; and Brandi (James) Scott of Jackson, Ohio. She also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren: Nicholas (Allison) Gleason, Ashley Hall, Mathew Hall, Jacob Caponi, Jayla Caponi, Preston Hall, Ethan Hall, and Grace Hall—and one precious great-grandchild, Rowen Hall. Shirley is also survived by her three sisters, Janice Swain, Diane Salvador, and Ginnie Smith,

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Doris (King) Strother.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home, 202 W Maple Ave, Oak Hill, OH 45656. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 2 p.m., with a procession to C.M. Cemetery.

Shirley had a zest for life that touched everyone around her. She loved to travel, dance in the rain, and take memorable trips with her sisters. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found joy and strength in her Bible study group. She treasured the deep bonds she formed with lifelong friends. Always full of fun and mischief, Shirley brought laughter wherever she went—whether she was lacing up rollerblades or starting a spontaneous balloon fight. She stood up for others with fierce loyalty and gave freely of her time, love, and kindness. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering love that will live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
