Sandra Lee Jenkins, age 82, of Ray, Ohio passed away July 16, 2026. She was born March 18th, 1944, in McLaughlin County, Kentucky to the late Woodrow and Perlia Hale. The family moved to the Ray area when Sandra was in the second grade. Her pigtails caught the eye of Gilbert Jenkins and eventually they married. They have two sons, Johnny and Kevin.

Sandra spent her life taking care of her family, growing beautiful flowers, and tending bountiful vegetable gardens. She spent many hours each year canning, freezing, and sharing what she had grown with those she loved. In her later years, she finally had the opportunity to take piano lessons, which she had desired to do since she was a young child. Any child or even adult who came to her home was allowed to play on the piano if they wanted.

Sandra is survived by her husband of over 66 years, Gilbert Jenkins; sons, Johnny (Peggy) Jenkins and Kevin (Shadra) Jenkins; grandchildren: Derek (Sara) Jenkins, Anna (Kyle) Jolly, and Alex (Alex Huddleston) Jenkins; great-grandchildren: Ella Jenkins and Aerilyn, Caden, and Veila Jenkins; sisters: Nora (John) Dixon, Cynthia Jenkins, and Judy (Rick) Doles; brother, Wilbur (Susie) Hale; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bedsides her parents, she was preceded in death by infant brother, Johnny Hale; sisters, Sally Faye Close and Elsie Hutchison; and brother, Edred Hale.
