Rodney Allen Lewis

Rodney Allen Lewis, age 75, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 7th, 2026, at Rest Haven Nursing Home of Mc Dermott, Ohio after a tough battle with various health issues.

Rodney was born August 14th, 1950, in Gallipolis, Ohio to Wilma (Richards) Lewis and the late Thomas Lewis.

He was a 1968 graduate of Jackson High School and a 1972 graduate of Ohio State. He worked as a supervisor at Honeywell International, from which he retired. Rodney attended Fellowship of Faith Church in Rio Grande until his decline in health would not allow it.

Rodney loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time using his binoculars to watch deer, fox, and any other wildlife that came along. He also enjoyed motorcycles and even owned his own shop at one point. He was a jack-of-all trades and could fix anything. One of his special talents included woodworking. He could also do balloon animals which he enjoyed doing for children.

He is survived by his mother, Wilma Lewis of Jackson, Ohio; his daughter, Jessica (Benjamin) Kahler of Gainesville, Florida; and his grandchildren whom he adored, Adara and Rhys Kahler of Gainesville, Florida. He was also survived by his brother, Tom (Dorothy) Lewis; sister, Linda (Keith) DeVault; and nieces and nephews: Ann Colburn, Scott Lewis, Doug Blair, Dustin Lewis, and Brian Lewis.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Lewis; his daughter, Stephanie Lewis; and nephew, Matthew Blair.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life on Monday, May 11th, 2026, at 1PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Rev. Bob Harper officiating.
