Rita Gayle Adkins

Rita Gayle (Crider)Adkins, 81, passed away on June 20, 2026 with her daughters by her side. She was born April 19, 1945 in Gallia County, Ohio, daughter of the late Trevert and Ollie(Whitt)Crider.

Rita is survived by her two daughters Kristina Lynn (Israel) Maldonado and Sheila Gayle (William Scott) Roberts; her sisters Marcella Crabtree and Carol Baker and brother, Kent Crider; grandchildren, Justin Roberts, Tyler Roberts, Jayce Maldonado; and her great grandchildren, Jack Roberts and Charlotte Roberts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Rodger Adkins; her sisters, Joyce Constant, Nathalia Edwards, Floretta Kay Crabtree, Jewell Jarrell, and Delphine Sheline.

Rita was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in staying connected with her family. She loved spending time talking with her loved ones, always keeping close to those she cared about.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 on Friday, June 26, 2026 at the Lewis and Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio. Services will immediately follow at 1:00 with Reverend Stan Howard officiating with a burial after in Centerpoint Cemetery.
