May Elizabeth Hatfield, age 75, most recently of Ironton, Ohio and formerly of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 15th, 2024, at Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley in Lawrence County after an extended illness. May was born in Oak Hill, Ohio on February 14th, 1949, to the late Matthew and Flossie (Bruce) Woods.

May enjoyed going to yard sales and thrifting. She loved her pets, especially her dog, Minnie.

May leaves behind her children: Wallace (Gwen) Hatfield of Oak Hill, Ohio, Matthew (Shawna) Hatfield of Oak Hill, Ohio, Tim Hatfield of Ironton, Ohio, Carrie (John) Harmon of Jackson, Ohio, and Patty Ross of Ironton, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Perlie Woods.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Hatfield; her son, Thomas Hatfield; granddaughter, Janie; and brothers, Lawrence and Walter.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 19th, 2024, from 11AM-1PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill with a funeral service at 1PM with Rev. Robert Bloomfield officiating. Burial will follow at Gallia Baptist Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com .
