Matthew Zane Coey

October 5th, 1999 - January 18th, 2026

On January 12, 2026, Matthew suffered a catastrophic brain injury at his home in Tarlton, Ohio. He was declared deceased on January 18th, 2026, and remained on life support until January 19th to fulfill his selfless wish of organ donation.

He was a son, a grandson, a brother, and a father to two young children. Matthew is survived by his grandmother, Cheryl Mullins; his mother, Crystal (Jimmy) Clarkson; his sister, Mallorie (Zach) Felty; his sons, Gerald (age 6) and Lincoln (age 4); as well as many other extended family and friends. 

Loved by all he met, Matt was known for his sense of humor and his ability to make nearly anyone laugh through his antics. He loved spending time outdoors as well as caring for animals, wild or otherwise. Matt was very social and enjoyed spending time with his friends and meeting new ones along the way. His knowledge of video games and music was nearly unmatched. He was as selfless in death as he was in life. Multiple organs were successfully recovered for donation to save lives.
