Mason Daniel “Dan” Wills, 63, of Wellston, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 20, 2026. He was born November 6, 1962, in Wellston, Ohio, to the late Donald and Zelma (Collins) Wills.
As a 1981 graduate of Jackson High School, his Ironmen spirit shone proudly throughout the stands. He was a former employee of Merillat Industries for 30 years, Nuko Paving, and Bellisio’s. Dan was currently employed as a TL at General Mills. He took pride in his established business of Hometown Signs. Above all, his favorite job was running Papaw’s Daycare.
He met the love of his life, Peggy, whom he married on September 1,1984. Together they built a family full of love and strong Christian values. He treasured the memories made with his two girls, Courtney and Whitney. His work ethic and caring personality will leave a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Dan was a member of the Wellston Church of God where he was a former Sunday School Superintendent and leader of the Boys Club. In addition, he was an active member of the Kiwanis Club in Jackson. He enjoyed his time coaching AAU basketball, softball, and baseball. He loved spending time with his family and friends, whether it was camping, playing a round of golf, or cheering on his beloved Buckeyes, Bengals, Ironmen, or Reds. Most of all, he enjoyed watching and cheering on his grandchildren.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Peggy (Camp) Wills. He leaves behind two daughters whom he cherished, Courtney (Scott) Wiggins and Whitney (Jared) Ghearing; his four beloved grandchildren: Emily and Tyler Wiggins, and Gracelyn and Isaac Ghearing; brother Donnie Wills; in-laws, Larry (Sandy) Camp, Ronald Camp Jr, Eddie King, James (Ramona) Camp, Tracey (Mandy) Camp, Joey (Jen Michael) Camp, and Jeri (Mark) Chapman; a bonus granddaughter Kiersten Snyder; his favorite camping friends, Barry and Karen Benson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Zelma (Collins) Wills; father and mother in-law, Ronald and Emily (Ewing) Camp, and sister-in-law, Dianna (Camp) King.
He was known for his kindness, his willingness to help anyone in need, and his love for the Lord. He shared his faith with others while never meeting a stranger and made lasting memories with the people he loved most. Dan will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wellston Church of God, 1422 S New York Avenue, Wellston, OH 45692.
