Marlene (Snyder) Absten, age 85, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born on February 14, 1938, in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Wilford and Mary Dell (Sharp) Snyder.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Terry) Midkiff; son, Greg (Darlene) Caulley; and three sisters; grandchildren: Kara (Andy) Elcess, Ashley Midkiff, Andrea (Derrick) Moore and Adam Midkiff; and five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Absten; brothers, Vance Snyder and Robert Snyder; and her sister, Donna Snyder.

Per her wishes, there will be no visitation. A public graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Horeb Cemetery in Oak Hill with Rev Fred Crabtree officiating.
