Linda (Colby) Tussing, age 82, passed away peacefully on January 22nd, 2026, in Westerville, Ohio with her daughter, Ellie and her son, Chad by her side. She was born in Jackson, Ohio on October 11th, 1943, to the late Ellsworth F. and Frances (Evans) Colby.

Linda was a 1961 graduate of Jackson High School where she was a National Honor Society member, and in several clubs and organizations. Growing up, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson and very involved in their youth group. Linda received a full scholarship to the Holzer School of Nursing in Gallipolis where she became a Registered Nurse in 1964.

Throughout her life, she was involved in her children’s lives, room mother, Brownies and Girl Scouts. Along with her husband, she was very involved in Boy Scouts of America and the Valley High School athletic boosters. She enjoyed watching both her children and grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.

Linda also enjoyed crafting and often took her crafts to shows with her sisters. At the age of 50, Linda became a pheasant hunter. She loved watching Ohio State football with her family where her husband was an alum. In the summer, she also enjoyed working in her flower beds and planting flowers.

She is survived by her two children, Ellie (Ed) Link of Westerville, Ohio and Chad Tussing of New Underwood, South Dakota; five grandchildren: Grace and John Link of Westerville, Ohio and Ethan, Elisa, and Wil Tussing of New Underwood, South Dakota; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald R. “Jerry” Tussing; sisters and their spouses: Kathleen (Ivan) Yerian, Evlyn (Gerald) White, Pearl (Bill) Bowman, Martha (Dwight) Walburn, and Darlene (Phil) DeLong; two brothers, Lamar (Carolyn) Colby and Ellsworth Colby Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11th, 2026, at 12PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Friends and family may gather from 11AM-12PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The University of Rio Grande’s Holzer School of Nursing or to Capital City Hospice.
