Joyce Ann Cassidy

Our sweet Momma, Joyce Ann Cassidy, age 81, of Jackson, Ohio went home to be with Jesus after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer at the SOMC Hospice Center of Portsmouth.

Joyce was born October 21st, 1944, in Coalton, Ohio to the late Earl H. Gould and Dorsie M. (Blevins) Bragg. She graduated from JHS, class of 1962. Joyce was a devoted, fun-loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family. She enjoyed spending time with them, especially eating at her favorite restaurants. Joyce was diligent in her prayers and a faithful servant of God. Her beautiful smile, kind spirit, and sweet soul will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

She is survived by her children: Christina Wolf, Gina (John) Peabody, Cheryl (Nathan) Wiford, Jerry Cassidy Jr., Aaron (Marybeth) Cassidy, David Cassidy, and Julie (Dan) Boyd; grandchildren: Jonathan Peabody, Jacob Peabody, Jenae Peabody, Joshua Peabody, Jianna Peabody, Courtney Wiford, Tyler (Jessica) Wiford, Jordan Wiford, Cynthia Wiford (Simeon Nix), Brianna Cassidy, Caitlin Cassidy, Caleb Cassity, Caleb Malone, Conner Boyd, Hayden Boyd, and Liam Boyd; nine great-grandchildren; siblings: Carolyn “Gay” (Mike) Gilliland, Erline (Jeff) Page, Vickie Adkins, and Martha (Rick Burris); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Cassidy; grandson, Justin Wiford; and siblings, Sharon Hood and Eddie Gould.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, from 11AM-1PM with a funeral immediately after at 1PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Burial will follow at Gallia Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
