James “Jim” Robert Overturf, age 76, of Oak Hill, formerly of Columbus, passed away at Riverside Hospital on Sunday, January 1, 2023 surrounded by family.

Jim enjoyed fishing, decorating for Christmas and mowing his grass.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Overturf and Wanda Payne; his first wife, Helen Perkins; his second wife, Wanda Ball; sister, Francis Sweeney; and a brother, Kendall Overturf.

He is survived by his brother, Richard and sister, Teri, both of Columbus; step children, Candie Ball, of Oak Hill, Tammy Ball, of New Marshfield, Joe Ball, of Thurman, and Penny Lynch, of Zanesville. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews which he loved.

Jim’s wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
