Geraldine (Hall) Murphy, age 96, of Jackson, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Holzer in Jackson.  She was born on June 16, 1928, in Hitchett, Kentucky to the late Leonard and Mary (Jackson) Hall.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jay Murphy Junior in 1989; her 2 sons, Eddie Murphy and Larry Murphy.

She is survived by her two sisters, Betty LeRoy, and Ercil Atkins; a brother, Gene (Victoria) Hall; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nephews, and several great great and great great great grandchildren.

Geraldine attended school in Grayson, Kentucky.  After school, she worked for 18 years for R.J. Reynold’s Foods.  She made a lot of friends in Jackson throughout her years.  She loved to play cards and cook.  She will be missed.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, with Pastor Larry Boggs officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Coalton.  Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com .
