Geraldine "Gerri" Estelle Adkins

Geraldine “Gerri” Estelle Adkins, age 73, of Oak Hill, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was born May 28, 1952, in Philadelphia PA. to the late Charles Welsh.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Arnold Adkins; nephews, that she raised her own children, Michael Lee Jackson Jr., Brandon Lee Jackson, and Adam Julius Lee Jackson; six grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Arnold Adkins Sr.; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Adkins; niece, Julia “Julie” Simpson.

Gerri grew up in Philadelphia and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. She loved her family, and was an amazing cook. She loved the outdoors, especially camping. She leaves behind her beloved dogs, “Samson”, “Baby Girl”, and “Sassie”.

Visitation will be on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1-3 PM at the Lewis & Gillum of Jackson. At her request, there will be no funeral following. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the family’s convenience. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
